Ticks are a parasite. They will simply feed on your dog or cat's blood. When removing them, you shouldn't simply pick them out with your fingers! You need to "work" them loose with the tick tool. By using this tool, you should be able to remove the tick along with it's mouth parts that will be embedded in your pets skin.
